Mesh add tabs

hard tier · create

The request

I've attached the STL of an enclosure lid I already printed. Keep it exactly as it is — import the mesh and build onto it, don't remodel it — and add two mounting tabs, one on each short end. Each tab stands 12 mm out past the end of the lid, is the lid's own plate thickness, and sits flush with the flat outer face the lid stands on. Put a 3.4 mm through-hole in the middle of each tab, so the two holes end up 102 mm apart. Build the tabs where the mesh sits (Z up, same origin — don't re-centre it). Keep the mesh imported in the part while you work. Put everything in one sub-part named exactly `lid`. Measure the mesh first; do not guess its size.

What the AI judge checks

  • The overall form matches the reference: the same kind of object, the same silhouette from the matching angle, allowing for the requested change: the lid itself unchanged, with two flat mounting tabs added past its short ends, each carrying one through-hole
  • Proportions match: the relative sizes of the major dimensions agree with the reference within what the eye can judge, allowing for the requested change: the lid itself unchanged, with two flat mounting tabs added past its short ends, each carrying one through-hole
  • Every major feature visible in the reference (holes, slots, bosses, tabs, lips) is present in the result, allowing for the requested change: the lid itself unchanged, with two flat mounting tabs added past its short ends, each carrying one through-hole
  • Those features sit where the reference has them, allowing for the requested change: the lid itself unchanged, with two flat mounting tabs added past its short ends, each carrying one through-hole
  • Nothing is present that the reference does not show — no decorative or unexplained geometry, allowing for the requested change: the lid itself unchanged, with two flat mounting tabs added past its short ends, each carrying one through-hole
  • The tabs read as flat flanges continuing the lid's outer face, not posts, brackets or blocks bolted onto it
  • Each tab carries exactly one round hole and no other openings
  • Each tab is joined to the lid along its end rather than floating beside it or touching at a corner

Measured checks

  • one sub-part named lid (gate)
  • the imported lid is still declared as an import (gate)
  • the lid's own volume survives (gate)
  • nothing solid was added inside the lid's own footprint (gate)
  • the part spans 12 mm past the lid at both ends together
  • the tabs are on the short ends, not the long ones
  • the -X tab hole clears 3.4 mm at the 102 mm pitch
  • the +X tab hole clears 3.4 mm at the 102 mm pitch
  • the -X tab fills the lid's own thickness beyond its hole
  • the +X tab fills the lid's own thickness beyond its hole
  • asked the oracle at most once
